These first pictures are from our drive out to California. The boys were very excited and so they were pretty good on the way there. Misha had spent the whole morning berfore school packing his backpack for the things he wanted to bring along. He thought of pretty much everything and I was actually appreciative that he even remembered to bring a few books and toys to entertain Benjamin on the drive.
We got to the hotel pretty late and got into bed so that we could get ready for Disneyland the next day.
We went to Disneyland and California Adventure the first day. It was a lot of running around, but very worth it. The boys got to go on a lot of rides, meet some characters and even see a couple of shows.
This was Allen's favorite ride because it was like being in a giant video game.
Allen and Misha didn't look too excited for this ride. The first ride they went on was Space Mountain, and they were a little leary of everything else after that. They didn't cry, but Allen always asked before each ride "Is it going to be fast?" and Misha said he liked it, but it was a little scary.
The end of our tiring, but really fun day.
Legoland was our next park. None of us had ever been there before, so it was new to all of us. It was a really fun park and great for the little kids. The babies couldn't go on as many of the rides as they could at Disneyland, but there was so much to see that they still had fun. They had a bunch of cities (Washington D.C., New York and Las Vegas to name a few) made in legos with moving parts like cars and parades. The kids loved that. They also had a lot of animals and other statues made from legos, and all of the rides were mild so the kids could go on them. It was very fun.
We went to the beach between Legoland and Disneyland as kind of a rest day because we didn't do nearly as much running around. The boys had never seen the ocean before, and they absolutely loved it. I even let Benjamin play in the sand and he had a wonderful time until he crawled too close to the water and a cold wave touched him before I could lift him. He didn't like that, but loved to play in the sand. The older boys collected seashells, built sand castles and a sea wall (to stop the waves) and got very, very wet and sandy.
Abigail loved the sand and didn't even seem to mind when she got it in her mouth.
Benjamin did mind getting sand in his mouth. He stuck his head in the sand and then realized that he didn't like it too much.

Our last stop was SeaWorld. The boys loved it there too. They got to pet the dolphins and starfish, see some shows (which Benjamin loved), and see a lot of fun water animals.

The walrus was eating in this picture and he was right next to the glass. It was really hard to get a picture that other people didn't step into at the last minute.
Well, that was our trip. It was a wonderful time, but we were all pretty tired when we got home.
